Hi Delly, nice to see you here. I'm feeling lonely at present. I hope this site picks up soon, I'm working on it, but people are so slow.
My site is intended to cut through the media garbage.

Ivanhoe , start as you mean to go on , if things are slow , concentrate on the forum , take pointers from other forums , cherry pick ideas , whatever improves L A UK do it , never sit still , time is on nobodys side , people don't fall into forums , they need to be enticed with a good foundation of information and feedback from the Administrator . Message people on Facebook , same for Myspace and of course Twitter , you need to drum up interest in your site , you are in a sea of online forums , you sink or swim by the time and energy devoted to your forum to attract fresh members .
Feeling low and down , will not bring new members , feeling low and down should be the wake up call , not to wallow in it , but drive yourself forward to maximise the site .

Hi Guys n' Gals....
Just popped in from my own site to see how Ivanhoe is getting on with this one. ( I was invited to ).
Ok. it is very new and it is still to get circulated but the ethos behind it is one that I can support wholeheartedly.
Best of luck with your new site Ivanhoe !
Best of Regards....

Introducing myself
[b][b]Hello everybody,
Being the newbie here I bid you all greetings. And looking forward to reading and posting lots. I honestly believe that, once you're on the wrong side of 50 (in my case 60, lol), it doesn't mean the end of a phase, but rather the beginning of a new phase. I'm looking forward to a personal challenge that I've set up for myself - aided and abetted by my long-suffering husband of 71. We're in the process of sharpening up our bicycle tyres and heading for the hills. In Spain to be precise. This is something that we would not have been able to do before this year. Until four years ago, I was still working fulltime, and since taking retirement, I've been doing freelance as well. But this year is going to be different. I've honed down the freelancing - a lot - so have much more time on my hands. Have any of you seen "The Way"? It stars Martin Sheen who walks the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage path. After seeing this, we started wondering if it would be possible to do it on two wheels. It turns out that it is, and that it's quite common to! We are thinking July/August, but might have to move it back to September/October because of expenses. 'They' are talking about the sterling devaluing which would mean we wouldn't get as much euros for our money if we wait until then to finance the whole trip, which would be a shame. But this is really something that has grown from a small acorn into a giant tree of an idea! I honestly don't want to be regretting in ten year's time that we had the opportunity to do such an amazing venture - rather I want to be looking back and saying "I did that!!!"
Any of you have crazy yearnings to do something unforgettable?
Hi, welcome to my site which is dedicated to what has happened to the vast majority of Britain's pensioners since the State pension was devalued by Margaret Thatcher in 1980. The primary aim of this site is to raise awareness on an issue that has been largely buried by the BBC this past 30 odd years, and the millions of pensioners who have been thrown into poverty in this time, and to try to help this generation. If I may ask, how does your situation fit into this. ?

Please to meet you all.
Hello, I didn't realise how close to old I am getting until I was pointed in the direction of this site and starting reading Whoops I didn't see that coming! Not to worry I have been prepared for this era with excitement for some time now - inspired by the poem of Jenny Joseph
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other peoples' gardens
And learn to spit.
And pick the flowers in other peoples' gardens
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickles for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickles for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
Also, "you can judge a society by the way it treats it's Seniors.

The whole idea of the Link-Age campaign has legs. It covers areas other pension groups are not covering. It could link students groups and pensioners together and explain to the young the importance of campaigning for pensions.
